Social Enterprise Support Centre

As you may be aware Social Enterprise is a growing sector which puts principle before profit, they work to objectives which benefit their community and of course this is something we support.

Social Enterprise Support Centre logo

One of our latest clients is the Social Enterprise Support Centre (SESC) for West Yorkshire. They needed their site to be accessible and brought up to date with the addition of a few new features, including a newsletter system they could manage.

SESC support social entrepreneurs to develop their business and to provide a high quality service within their community. So, if you live in West Yorkshire and are thinking of setting up a social enterprise why not contact SESC? If you live elsewhere and are involved with social enterprise work maybe you will be inspired by something you see on the SESC website.

Wildlife Centre Crisis - Please help!

Terry Marsh Rescue Centre

I wouldn't normally use Make Noise as a forum to ask for help but this time I have felt compelled to do so.

A wildlife recsue centre here in Nottinghamshire is at crisis point and will have to close at Christmas if they can't raise enough funds to keep it open.

The Terry Marsh Wildlife Rescue centre has been the place where sick and injured birds and wildlife have been nursed back to health for the past 20 years.

I have written more about this in my City Hippy post about the Terry Marsh Rescue Centre, please take a look and help if you can.

Thank you to City Hippy for your support.

Secret Policeman’s Ball – Amnesty International

Amnesty International's Secret Policeman's Ball

In 1976 (the year I was born) Amnesty International held their first ever Secret Policeman’s Ball. It was a comedy event held to raise the profile of the work of Amnesty International and indeed it did, increasing their membership by a gargantuan 700%! There were six shows held after the first one and now 15 years later its back again with Eddie Izzard, Jennifer Saunders, The Magic Numbers and the legend that is Chevy Chase confirmed to be involved.

The event will take place on Saturday 14th October at the Royal Albert Hall and if you’re not one of the lucky few to get tickets then you can watch it live on Channel 4.

Amnesty International will be producing a souvenir brochure featuring information about Amnesty’s work and comments from celebrities and campaigners. Make Hay have been invited to advertise in the brochure and needless to say we said "YES!" We’re very excited about being able to contribute to this important event.

Don't forget!

If you're inspired by an individual, business or organisation and think that the Make Noise community would like to hear about them then please get in touch.

Thank you for your support
